One bucket list item for us is to visit the roadside Sanders Peaches stand in Filbert, South Carolina. It’s one of the oldest African-American farms in the area specializing in Georgia Belle and Elberta Peaches.

Which State Produces the Most Peaches?
According to USDA reports, the top 10 peach-producing states in 2018 were, in order, California, South Carolina, New Jersey, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Washington, Michigan, New York and West Virginia, which put out 6,500 tons of the fruit.
A popular bone of contention among residents of South Carolina and Georgia is; which state has the best and/or most peaches. Last year the South Carolina Department of Agriculture took to Twitter to point out thatthe Palmetto State actually produces three times as many peaches as Georgia. And so a good-natured online battle began.
One thing we all can agree on though is that peaches are delicious.
Well, I mean – one thing most of us can agree on anyway. According to my youngest at 5 years old, upon having a peach for the first time. “Aaarrrghhhhh, I don’t like it; it tastes like I’m eating a cat.”
